SailGP Launches Tickets

SailGP launches ticket sales for the Great Britain Sail Grand Prix. The sport’s best athletes to race on Plymouth Sound 17-18 July.

PLYMOUTH – May 6, 2021 – Tickets for the sport’s pinnacle league – to see the sport’s best athlete’s go head-to head – are now available. The third event of SailGP Season 2 takes place in Britain’s Ocean City, Plymouth, 17-18 July.

In Season 2, not only will SailGP’s eight incredibly competitive teams be battling for the championship trophy that comes with the sport’s largest monetary prize, but they will also be racing for a better future and championing a world powered by nature.

Following the action-packed season opener in Bermuda in April, with a triumphant win for Ben Ainslie’s Great Britain SailGP Team, and then the first-ever Italy Sail Grand Prix in June, SailGP will return to UK shores 17-18 July, promising high speed, high tech and high drama.

Fans in Plymouth will be able to witness some of the most incredible sail racing scenes both on and off the water and get up close to the impressive line-up of world-class athletes and top sailing nations representing Australia, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Japan, Spain, New Zealand and the United States.

Plymouth Hoe provides a spectacular viewpoint for fans to immerse themselves in the adrenalin-filled action as the foiling F50 catamarans, capable of speeds of nearly 60 mph, race right in front of their eyes within the natural amphitheatre of Plymouth Sound.

The Great Britain SailGP Team will be looking to maintain its place at the top of the leaderboard at it’s home event and hoping that fans will come out in style to cheer on the red, white and blue boat.

A limited number of tickets for the Great Britain Sail Grand Prix in Plymouth can be purchased online from today, May 6, at SailGP.com/GreatBritain. Additional tickets will be released inline with the Government Covid updates.

The Great Britain Sail Grand Prix | Plymouth is held in partnership with Plymouth City Council and with support from Associated British Ports, English Cities Fund and Sutton Harbour Group.
