City Centre Company urges council to press ahead with Armada Way plans.

The City Centre Company has sent a letter of support signed by all its directors to the leader and chief executive of Plymouth City Council in support of the council’s £12.7m improvement plans for Armada Way.

Pans for the regeneration, which have been called for by the City Centre Company for years, have recently run into controversy over the planned felling of trees.

But the City Centre Company’s directors voted unanimously at its last Board meeting to urge the council to press ahead with the scheme, including the removal of the trees from the central section. This is seen as vital in preserving the integrity of the original vision for Armada Way, creating more visibility for our businesses, opening up the central area to attract more visitors and events by day and night and unlocking the potential of future investment.
